MSA W95 Filter Self-Rescuer
This particular air-purifying respirator is known as the W95 filter self-rescuer. It will provide you with 240 minutes of escape time (for one-use only) from dangerous gases such as carbon monoxide.
Carbon monoxide (CO) may be found in situations where there are underground explosions or mine fires. The W95 is immediately ready to use once opened and is ideal for applications that require an extended escape route.
The integrated CO filter is an oxidation catalyst, which works to convert CO to carbon dioxide. The integral heat exchanger will reduce the temperature of inhalation air to a more comfortable level. Any expired air is passed through a heat exchanged and a spring-loaded exhalation valve and into the ambient air.
An additional feature of the MSA W95 air-purifying respirator is the Hopcalite pre-filter which helps to extend the service life.
