Bacharach MGS-460 Gas Detector

The Bacharach MGS-460 is a robust refrigerant gas detector with a remote sensor head, designed for installation in hard-to-reach areas. Featuring Modbus RTU, analogue outputs, three relays, and an IP66 enclosure, it simplifies compliance with EN 378 and ASHRAE 15 in machinery rooms, cold stores, and freezers.

Bacharach MGS-460 Gas DetectorThe Bacharach MGS-460 Gas Detector extends the flexibility of the MGS-400 series by incorporating a remote sensor head, allowing gas detection in confined or hard-to-reach spaces while maintaining a convenient interface point for wiring and communication.
Engineered for refrigeration safety, the MGS-460 supports a wide range of gases including halogenated refrigerants, CO₂, NH₃, O₂, CO, hydrocarbons (R-290, R-600) and NO₂. Pre-calibrated, plug-and-play sensor modules make replacement quick, with no need for calibration gas or specialist tools.
The unit combines digital (Modbus RTU) and analogue (configurable 4–20 mA/voltage) outputs for seamless integration into building management systems, refrigeration controls, or the Bacharach MGS-408 controller. Three onboard relays provide local control of fans, strobes, or shutdown equipment, while integrated audio/visual alarms ensure immediate local notification.
Its IP66 enclosure and low-temperature performance down to -40 °C make it ideal for machinery rooms, chiller plants, walk-in freezers, and other demanding environments. With support for Bluetooth app configuration, the MGS-460 offers a user-friendly, modern solution for achieving compliance with EN 378 and F-Gas Regulation while reducing downtime and maintenance costs.
